The organizing committee also counts on the technical support from two private companies specialized in organizing events (Acessi Rio Informática and Meta Marketing Eventos).
The congress will be held from August 3rd thougth 7th, 2009 at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. This hotel has an excellent facility for large meetings, and it is located near to several tourist points of interest of the city of Rio de Janeiro (see http://www.rio.rj.gov.br/).
Traditionally, the Brazilian Congress of Phytopathology is the largest and most important event in South America covering the areas of Plant Pathology and Protection.
The wide breadth of participants in the organizing committee and of supporting public and private institutions highlights the wide scope of this upcoming congress, which will discuss nearly all aspects of teaching, research and extension in Plant Pathology. Following the congress' central theme (Phytopathology: Science, Evolution and Prospects for the Biotechnology Era), the scientific program (see here) will include talks, round tables, poster and oral sessions, discussion groups and mini-courses. The social program (see here) will be perfect for spouses and/or families, who will have the chance of visiting the many attractions of the city of Rio de Janeiro and enjoy the friendship of its local population.
By all means this congress is being prepared to provide you an unforgettable scientific and leisure experience. This is a guarantee of the congress' dedicated organizing committee.
We hope to see you in Rio!!
